Lately I've been devouring books by Kristin Billerbeck. I also have read a good book by Lauren Walker and Sir L....something. But thjen I also read a book by Meg Cabot (Size 14 is not Fat Either) and was shocked to find it was chock-full of profanities and other bad stuff. Of course, I'm old enough to read this stuff, but hate exposing myself to it because I am very easily influenced. I can read pretty much anything, I'm a teenager and a major book worm. I was wondering if anyone has some nice, clean, book recomendations? They don't even really have to be christian, just a good book you read or an author you like that doesn't swear -too much- in their books. I want it PG-rated. Thanks!

Brandilyn Collins writes some excellent Christian novels. They are actually suspense novels, and they are very exciting and truly suspenseful. You'd expect that Christian suspense could be tacky, but not with her. Her books are mysterious and exciting and riveting till the end. Her newest series, the Kanner Lake series, is her best yet I think. Also the Hidden Faces series is great too. You can go to www.brandilyncollins.com for more, or http://www.forensicsandfaith.blogspot.com/ for her blog. She is a very talented writer who draws you into the stories like few writers I've ever seen before. But don't read the books at night - the slightest noise will scare you to death! Okay, so I may be slightly biased - did I mention she's my aunt?? - but her books are TRULY amazing, family relations aside!

Why did you ask this question three times? No, I can't recommend any; I'm not into Christian stuff. How are you easily influenced? So you are admitting that you don't have a mind of your own and a complete idiot?Maybe it's just me, but that does not sound like a book worm. If you can't handle a few cuss words (which by the way are just words) then you will have your @ss your kicked in the REAL world.

I agree about not wanting to read anything with profanities. I don't. I also don't watch anything with profanities and it's really "slim pickings" out there.
There are several publishing houses that put out "Inspirational Romance" novels, which are really Christian novels. Off the top of my head, check out Love Inspired, Steeple Hill, and Heartsong Presents books.
Also, anything by Francine Rivers or Beverly Lewis is usually good and clean. Beverly Lewis' books tend to focus on Amish communities but they are very interesting and I've seen them in Barnes & Noble. BUT I don't live in the USA so I don't know if the others are.
Finally, anything by author Jan Karon. She has a series of books called the "Mitford Years". I highly recommend them. I'm reading the third one now. She also puts out kids' books.

For Christian novelists in addition to Brandilyn Collins, please Google the following names:
Jill Nelson,
Randy Ingermanson,
Alton Gansky,
James Scott Bell,
Deb Raney.
You'll find a wealth of good Christian novels from romance to hi-tech to suspense thrillers.
