Are Cicadas harmful to humans?

No they survived for years on the sap of trees. Once they emerge they are only interested in finding a mate by making that horrible noise, mating, and putting their eggs into the ground. They never eat or drink anything from humans or animals.

not harmful to humans at all but you might want to cover your smaller woody shrubs and saplings
