Which Soap you think is the worst soap on TV right now?
I think One Life to Live and General Hospital are the Worst soaps right now. These shows are lacking good storylines and they look all the same.

When Passions heads off to DirectTV....
Other than Y&R and Bold & The Beautiful, I would lump Guiding Light, DOOL and the 3 ABC soaps in a tie for last place.
DOOL will fail with bringing back Stefano just as GL failed in bringing back Laura - the ratings shock was not permanent and B&B is using 20 year old story lines from Y&R (Constantine Maroulis as a new Michael Damian) but B&B can get away with doing that.
The other soaps have run out of creative energy and Mickey Mouse is waiting to ax all 3 soaps at the right time. DOOL pretty much has 2 years remaining and GL could be canceled any day. This would leave 3 CBS soaps to dominate daytime - ATWT could be rewritten as a B&B clone.

Passions hands down is the worst soap by far. Initially they came with a vibrant cast and catchy story lines but its just gotten way out of control now. The plots are extremely unrealistic: witches and people going to hell and back, demons in the basement, a little girl with superpowers...it should be on Sci Fi for Christ's sake!! Also the story lines are just never ending: it just gets you annoyed as nothing ever gets solved. Everytime you thing Theresa and Ethan are gonna finnaly be together...something else happens. Suspense makes a good soap but never-ending supense bores the viewers. I can stop watching Passions now and check back one year later and nothing has changed. Its just pure crap.

I SOOO agree about the ABC shows looking the same. There was a time when each show had a distinctive identity.
I cannot stand the mob storylines on GH! The show is so entrenched in darkness and violence, and the leading man is a mob boss. YECH.
AMC looks like a public access tv show....poor quality.
My former favorite OLTL is way off-track with mysteries that takes a year to get resolved. And they let go Evangeline- bad move.
ABC needs an overhaul!

Both NBC soaps are ridiculous so they don't count. One life and GH are starting to bore the hell out of me. They are discounting what the fans want to see and going off on these long storylines to finally give the fans what they want. Although, the Jessica/Nash/Antonio thing is horrible. Who the hell does Nash thinks he is? In the old days, Asa would have had his butt hog tied and sent packing. He talks to her parents with such disrespect. And Antonio is a punk! He should have never let that relationship become what it did. I'd like to see a Natalie/Vincent/Layla/Christian battle. Sorry to see Evangeline go but she is way too talented to be on this show. I want Elizabeth and Jason to be together with their kids. Jason is so much better for her than Lucky. Lucky is just Luke's little loser son who doesn't really compare and can't handle a woman such as Elizabeth. I absolutely hate Sam. She needs to go, period! And enough of the violence with Jerry Jax/Mr. Craig. Kill him, Alcazar and give me more Lulu and Spinelli.....this kid has a bright future ahead of him.

I only followed soaps at two times in my life - in 1977 when I was about 8 months pregnant on I watched the Young and the Restless - and in 1972 when I was in college one year we used to follow Dark Shadows and Star Trek. Is General Hospital still around? I don't like soaps, because they rot your brain cells and get you all worked up and nervous for nothing. You begin to care about people who don't exist. When you think about it, it's really funny. It's always better to read a book or watch a movie or educational program on TV. I do admit that they have tremendous value as a tool to help teach foreigners English, because the language is limited. Incidentally, I once watched a Russian language version of a Mexican soap called "Bogati tozhe plachet" (The Rich also Cry) and it was also a good language teaching tool.

General Hospital has got to be the worst and its the same thing over and over....JR the bad guy with a gun and Sonny the Mob leader-----give me a break and get into reality. The next one is ERICA.....OMG----Her and Jack need to get as far away from each other as possible. They are sickening. What happened to the beautiful parties they had where the people got dressed up? and the story line for JR's g/f-GIVE ME A BREAK! Lord i am not a writer but i can do a better job then the writers you have. Try me

I have to say sadly that it is General Hospital at this time. The storylines are predictable and boring. I don't know what makes me snore more..the Liz/Jason/Sam/Lucky baby mama drama or the whole James Craig/Jerry Jax yawnfest. I want to know what happened to the writers with ingenuity. I honestly think the only reason I tune in half the time is to see what Spinelli is up to. If he's not on, I'm not tuning in till they clear that garbage up they call writing!!

One Life To Life is dragging. They still haven't found Spencer's real killer. And let Jessica die! They'll drag this out too and I think Jessica is pathetic. First she loves her husband, then she doesn't love him enough even though he'll donate part of his liver to her so she can live. Nash is a jerk with a capital J.
Rex & Adrianna are soo boring. I wish they'd split up. And good lord, Blair & Todd still aren't back together. Same 'ol, same 'ol. It's getting old.
