About Implanon Implant?

Hey,
I've had Implanon implant for about 3mths now.
I've been so moody and seem to be putting on weight rapidly which makes me upset!
Oh the 12weeks i've had it i've been on a period for about 6 of those weeks.
Is this normal for the implant?
What is another good birth control except the pill becuase I forget to take it and I want to be responisble for an effect birth control as well as my partner!

Please help me!

Hi there, I've been on the Implanon for 10 months now but before the Implanon I was on the Norplant(not available anymore) for 5 years. I find that the Implanon seems to have more negative effects on me than the Norplant. I have gained about 5kg, my sex drive has gone to a zero and my acne has gotten worse. Bleeding on the Implants is a common side effect but if you talk to your GP they can provide you with medication that can control the bleeding.
I am going to go on the pill soon and remove the Implanon. To answer your other question: there are other options out there, the contraceptive patch for example, the Nuva ring, or IUDs. You can do a search on Yahoo for information on other forms of contraception but the best thing for you to do is to talk to your GP.

I've never done the implant but the fact that you have blood so much since you have been on it does not sound normal to me and I would recommend getting in touch with your dr about that.

This does not sound normal to me.

As for other birth control options the only other one out there right now besides the pill are Depo-Provera and IUDs like Mirena.
