My fiancee just left for his friend's 5-day bachelor party - is this normal? How long do bachelor parties usually run?

5 days? sounds like a lot of fun.
I've heard of things like this...guys instead of going to strip clubs, they take a bunch of their friends and go camping, go to Vegas for a few days, or go to a racing event (NASCAR races can be a week-long thing). I wouldn't worry too much about it.

That is NUTS!!! The ones I have been to have last about two or three hours and generally have been a bore. A stripper comes and performs, we drink a lot and then it's all over, maybe some gag gifts.
I have to say that my wife told me that if I had a Bachelor Party then the wedding was "off". I got the hint and called off the wedding, but unfortunately, I didn't do it for seven years and two kids.
Don't feel you are powerless here. Tke some control (not all of the control). Remember, who your husband is will not change once you get married. If he has a 5-day bachelor party, he will take 5-day fishing trips, 5-day trips 'away'; 5-day party with the guys trips; 5-day Las Vegas trips ... he won't change.

No this is not normal, your husband lie to you and his friends helped him. Bachelor party or only for a few hours. I was probably with someone else or one of those strippers

One evening.
I don't know what your fiance does for a job and how many vacation days he is allotted, but I would be wanting to save the majority of my days to be with you.
Even now being married for ten years, it is fun to get away with the fellas for a ballgame or a beer, but I would rather spend my vacation time with my family.
