Nevermore and Prong are my top picks for this one...and maybe Shadows Fall and Type O Negative, too

The Shins are good for that. also,
Yo La Tengo (good album would be I Can Hear the Heart Beating as One)
Stephen Malkmus - some songs - Jennifer and the Ess Dog, Jo Jo's Jacket, Phantasies, Pencil Riot, I've Hardly Been, Water and a Seat
Beck - Midnite Vultures (he may not be obscure, but it's an underrated record that is like a party on a disk)
the Pixies - Trompe Le Monde (most Pixies fans call it their worst record. I disagree and call them idiots. All their records are very good though. Frank Black's Teenager of the Year and the Breeders' Last Splash are also great records)

1. Seals and Crofts-Summer Breeze
2. The Little River Band-The Night Owls, Lonesome Loser
3. Head East-Get Up and Enjoy Yourself
4. Helen Reddy-Ain't No Way to Treat A Lady
5. Barry Manilow-I Write the Songs (this one will probably get alot of negative reaction, but I like the man)
6. Pilot-Magic
7. Carol King-It's Too Late
8. Gladys Knight and the Pips-The Way We Were
9. Todd Rungren-Hello, It's Me.
10. Stories-Brother Louie
11. Ace-How Long?
12. Ozark Mountain Daredevils-Jackie Blue
13. Redbone-Come and get Your Love
14. Brownsville Station-Smokin' in the Boys' Room
15. Three Dog Night-Mama Told Me not to Come

Well, there are just some of my choices. As you can probably tell, classic tunes from the 70's. I grew up then, and to me, music just ain't the same.

I think the band I Am Ghost is very underrated, and I love listening to them when I have worries and problems... really good music.

Queen, they rocked and the world lost someone truly talented when Freddie pass away. There is never be a band that can come close to Queen.I had the joy of seeing them in 1980 in Chicago and to this day it was the best concert. I really enjoy all that they have done.

The Jesus and Mary Chain. Perfect pop drenched in feedback and guitars. Their best of compilation "21 Singles" is a good place to start.

Gorillaz! Just because they're a virtual band doesn't mean they can't produce good music (Tthe humans behind them, that is.) Anything of theirs is great; but my favs are from their Demon Days album - good, uplifting tracks on there are El Manana, Last Living Souls, and Demon Days.

Here's a link to some of their music samples; enjoy!
