Morelia is one of the first cities founded by the Spanish. Its weather is similar to Mexico City. Some years ago it was named cultural patrimony of the humanity by the UNESCO.
Downtown is a beatiful group of historical buildings which were renewed recently and they look great.
Food in Morelia is a very traditional mattter.
Sweets have such variety that you can´t try them all .
Handkrafts and some goods are produced in a very primitive way. Copper production can be seeen in Santa Clara del Cobre, which is not far from there.
Don´t miss the lakes region, Pátzcuaro, Camécuaro, Zirahuén are wonderful lakes with interesting places around. Archaeological sites, historical places, delicious food, nice people you´ll find there.

As the above answer mentioned, simply awesome, very historical sightings and rich in culture. Takes a special tourist to enjoy it; it's no Cancun, not meant for everyone. Weather is good, warm by day, cool in the mornings and at night. Gives you a good sense of true Mexican living. Surroundings are very peaceful and green, try going down to Uruapan also if you end up going. Email me if you would like some pics or a postcard book...
