I know it gets easier with time. And I am usually ok with it. But sometimes I just want to hear his voice. We were together 14 years. Is that weird to want to hear his voice?

ugh. no. i have never been in a relationship as long as you have but i have always felt (since i was very very young) that if someone doesn't want to be with me, great- get the hell out of my life and let me move on. and once i am tired of someone i really don't care if i ever see or speak to them again. you can't live in the past. i really don't understand how someone can long for someone else's voice or presence or attention if it's over.

Yes, I just want to hear his voice. I think, though, that it's better to let the relationship fade. When you hear his voice, the wound opens - again - and the pain that follows is not worth it.

Over time, you'll fully recover. Hopefully, a new man will enter your life and you'll have someone else to "listen" to.

Wow, I bet that is hard, 14 years. My hubby and I have been married 12 and together 14, so I cannot imagine. I don't think that is weird, maybe time will help heal your soul, good luck!!!

definitly not weird. you became close hearing his voice is so natural for you after 14 years. after that youre really good friends so not weird at all. i would suggest you try and at least be friends because its hard to lose someone completly after being that close for so long.

No, I don't think that's weird. It always takes time to get over someone, whether you're the dumper or the dumpee, and that person will always have some sort of place in your mind and your heart.

i just txt'd my ex to tell him to leave me a voicemail the other day...
he was totally wigged out worried something was wrong, but he left the message and now i can listen to it whenever i want. At least for the next 30 days till my cell phone company deletes it.

totally normal. i had a bf of four years, after we broke up (when i was still an unstable mess) i would call him and hang up just to hear him answer. even tho you probably feel like a loser. your not, hang in there youll get over it in time : )
