Anyway, I wouldn't accept the Mercedes, I asked for a Ferrari instead, and got a clip around the ear for being so cheeky!

i never been clipped around the ear i used to have a damned good hiding and better for it I have been
never did me no harm
in my day you had to work 12 hours down t pit and come up run all the errands and just have thrupence pocket money if you were lucky look after your brothers and sisters do the washing
AM I waffling again well like i say good hiding never hurt nobody

In the 60's you daren't scratch a disc (L.P./Single 73rpm/45's) if you did, you'd ruin it, and if it weren't yours, you had to leave the Country, or buy a new one, (that was a weeks wages) mind you, I never did earn much in them days !!

Me and my sisters wrecked shall we say several of my dads priced Elvis records growing up, probably some originals as well, we probably got a couple of clouts round the ear hole!!!
