My sister is expecting a girl in early August. She has had the name Aubrey Ryan picked out forever now! Her best fried had a little girl last month and used that name...any ideas?

I like the idea of switching them around, but it's up to your sister. It doesn't sound like this girl is that good of a friend... maybe she's always been jealous of your sister? It could also have been subconscious? It's up to her about giving her friend the benefit of the doubt, but she should name her daughter whatever she likes and if she likes that name then she should name her daughter that name. She could always look around too and see if anything else comes up that takes her by surprise... she may find something else that she really likes.

She could use something like Audrey Rhianne. Sounds similar, but not exact. Her best friend had to know she was planning on using this name, what a loser! Maybe she should start looking at combining family names and come up with such an awesome, cute name, her friend will be sorry she didn't wait or find her own name. That's the joy of someone else going first. You can top them, not the other way around!

I was thinking she could take the name Ryan to a different level with another middle name which sounds like the first name she had picked out. What I mean is the name Rhyenn Audrey. I also thought of Rynn Audrey-Alicia.

Aww that was a mean thing for her friend to do. There is no reason for your sister not to still use it though. She could change it around slightly - but still make it sound similar.

Instead of Aubrey - how about Avery or Averie - which is a variant of Aubrey. And you could change Ryan to the more feminine looking version Ryanne.

Averie Ryanne - I think it sounds lovely.
:-)

That was just rude of her friend. Either find another name for her baby or use the same. It was her idea first. There are so many names out there that I am sure she could fall in love with another one.

Jailynn, Jayci, Kendyl, Kaelynn, Krislyn, Kyleigh, Jade, Emma, Grace, Isabelle, Danyella, Audrey, Rhanne, Tiler, Morgan, Camryn, Taylor, Kaley, Courtney

Use the name anyway. In a few years life moves on and so do friends -- she may never see this person in 5 years. And certainly, her daughter will not care when she is 15, 25, or 57 years old.

I would just alter the spelling a bit, like maybe:
Aubrie Ryan(n)
Aubree Ryan(n)

But if your looking for suggestions:
Macy
Merisa
Madalie
Maleah
Brielle
Jayden
Alyna
Audrie
(even though one 1 of those is already my daughters name and 3 might be)
