do these evil people really think they are doing good? Take for example the terrorists, they actually think they are doing good, how do people come to this conclusion and feel that its ok to do this to other people? Now, lets talk about individuals, they like being evil to others? or is it some sort of retribution behind their motives?

every one has their reasons.some is because they like the feeling of power and self importance.some think they are doing GODS good work.some are just tagalongs who are playing follow the leader because they are too lazy or inept to think or choose for themselves.some think this will get them the respect they crave but have never had.some feel they have nothing to lose and they just dont care they want to be famous.but it is always a choice.and some people become pure evil because of the thoughts and ideals they think upon all the time.by holding evil close to your mind or heart you become evil.

I think that if you're a terrorist, you might look at the forces that've been tearing your region apart for a few centuries now and think, "How do people come to this conclusion and feel that its ok to do this to other people?" Hardly anyone 'chooses to be evil', they just choose to do what they feel they have to - and sometimes other people judge those things to be evil. I'll keep running with the whole 'war on terror' as an example, because there's evil on all sides of that one. Are terrorists evil? Yeah. But what about a man who lies to help start a war, killing his own soldiers and innocent people, then handing out money to a company chock-full of his friends to rebuild the things that he had blown up? I'd certainly call that evil, wouldn't you?

Evil starts the moment you begin thinking of things as more important than people.

Being evil is usually easier then being good.
Maybe the terrorists never set out to do the horrific things they did. Maybe they just started off as a little evil and then got desensitised by that evil and started doing even more evil and then kept on getting worse. Mass murders probably didn't set out to become them. They probably started off in life as sweet kids and then they experimented with one bad thing, and then something worse, etc. Also, how many alchoholics really thought they would become that way? Probably most just thought, I will have one drink. And then a week later, well, I guess two would be ok, etc. Sin is so addicitve and can easily get us out of control. Also, a lot of criminals were abused as kids and of course that can mess up someone for life. You can't expect someone to be very loving who never received much love in their life.

It's all a matter of perspective and point of view, and sometimes its not a conscious choice. For the terrorists the United States is evil. The way they reach that conclusion can vary from the way they were brought up to any trauma. For example: if as a young boy/girl your village is constantly under attack by American forces you would grow up believing that the people who attacked you are evil and should therefore be punished for what they have done to you. One can never be certain of other people's motives for doing what they do, but it is safe to assume that mostly people will do what makes them feel good about themselves. I could write a whole book trying to answer your question, but I doubt that's what you want. I hope I managed to at least answer you a little bit.

Some people do evil but think they're doing good (the path to hell was paved with good intentions.) No doubt there are terrorists who believe their own propaganda & think they are doing the right thing. In that case the actions are evil, the actor merely misguided. For someone to be evil there has to be intent. If someone is insane & kills someone & doesn't even know he did it, he is not evil, just insane. If someone intentionally takes the life of an innocent person then he is evil, a murderer. A guilty person has to know right from wrong & choose wrong to be evil. If you don't know right from wrong you can't be culpable. That's why children are considered innocent. They don't know any better yet. (Although some kids seem to be born evil, demon spawn & should be tried as adults but anyway...)

Some choose evil because they hate themselves & are angry at the world & hurting others is the only way they feel powerful & in control & alive. Show me a murderer & I'll show you someone who was not loved as a child, who was neglected or abused. Some choose evil because they're selfish & care about no one but themselves. Sometimes crime does pay unfortunately.

The good news is, that even if they get away with it in this life time, evil deeds will catch up with them in the afterlife. They will be punished in Hell for eternity.

So it's still better to choose good. But evil people don't realize that.

I don't expect anyone to agree with me, but evil exists, people choose sides every time they make a decision about how they are going to act (excluding children because they are still learning right from wrong), unless they are brain damaged - a medical condition. Sure, sometimes people are manipulated into doing evil deeds, but that doesn't let them off the hook. Running away is a better choice.

Free will to choose.

The good and evil that you see don't even exist in reality, at least not outside of the mind that believes in them. They are only judgments passed by the individual from their own unique perspective. What one person sees as bad or evil may seem to be the only logical thing to do from some other perspective. The ideas of both good and evil are point of view specific. This is why people like bush and bin laden are either loved or hated. Bush is seen as good by people who share his fear based thought system. Those who have a compassionate concern for all of mankind often see him as evil.

Bin laden is much the same. He is a villain in much of the western world, but he is somewhat of a celebrated pop star on the Middle East. There are T-shirt shops that sell items with his picture as though he was Jesus. It all depends on your point of view or perspective.

To sum it all up good is the name we give to people who do things that we think we like.

Evil is the name we give to people who do the things that we don’t like.

This is of course based solely on our particular point of view.

Love and blessings

It is not a question of good or evil. We, as humans simply categorize meanings behind what is good and what is evil. In the end, it is all relative. What is evil to one person, may be considered good for another.

Rejection, anger and abandonment supports a lot of this evil.
Bitterness toward anyone is an evil thing. Bitterness escalates into many different things including murder.
