Italy surrendered in September 1943, Germany in May 1945. The surrender of Japan marked the end of the war, on September 2, 1945.

World War II officially ended on the 8th September 1951 at the San Francisco Peace Treaty.

On August 6, 1945, a B-29 Superfortress, the Enola Gay, dropped a nuclear weapon dubbed Little Boy on Hiroshima, destroying the city. On August 9, a B-29 named Bockscar dropped the second atomic bomb, dubbed Fat Man, on the port city of Nagasaki.

The Japanese surrendered on August 15, 1945, or V-J day, signing the Japanese Instrument of Surrender on September 2. The Japanese troops in China formally surrendered to the Chinese on September 9, 1945.

Depends on who is involved. Technically, a couple of countries are still involved in WWII so the war is not over for them yet. Russia and Japan never signed a peace treaty which would have ended the conflict.

Well, in Europe the western Allies celebrated "V-E Day" on May 8. The Soviet Union celebrated "Victory Day" on May 9. Some remnants of German Army Group Center continued resistance until May 11 or May 12

In Asia the Japanese surrendered on August 15, 1945, or V-J day, signing the Japanese Instrument of Surrender on September 2.

There is no one single date that everyone stopped fighting - it doesn't work like that

WWII started in 1939 and ended in 1945. This is the war in which US bombed Nagasaki and Hiroshima. Th war ended shortly after those bombings.

1945 in Berlin, Germany when 12 American tanks attacked several Nazis and Hitler Youth. It was suicide for them to fight and they surrendered with a white banner. Adolf Hitler was dead and all American troops were being deployed from Europe.
