During your surgery the Anesthesiologist protected your airway using an ET (endotrachael tube). That can cause some sore throat discomfort after surgery, but it doesn't usually last long.Using some throat lozenges or spray can help, also cool fluids, and small amts of ice chips.Avoid extremely hot or cold foods.Take care. Certainly can be - if you had any length of operation they would probably had to put a tub down your throat into your windpipe to help your breathing while you were relaxed under the anaesthetic.
The tube can often scratch the throat on the way in - nothing to worry about as long as it settles down over the next day or 2!

Yes, it's perfectly normal to have a sore throat after a general anaesthetic. They stick a plastic tube down your throat to keep your airway open, and it leaves your throat a bit sore for a day or two.

Possibly from the tube in your throat...it will go away in a few days.

I had surgery the first part of March, and dealt with the same thing. Try gargling with warm salt water - it helps.

Your throat will hurt because of the tube they had to put in for anesthesia. This is normal and could last up to two weeks. Don't drink anything harsh like soda. Eat soft cool things like jello and/or ice cream. Good luck!

I had a sore throat after surgery for a few days due to the tube the anesthesiologist used for meds

in some operations, tho not all, the patient is entubated after they go to sleep. A large tube is put down their throat to keep their airway open, this can give you a sore throat, the tube comes out before you wake up.
the soreness should pass in a few days.

yes, they prob'ly put a tube down it and if they did not you are so far in a deep sleep that your mouth may have been partially open and caused your throat to become dry. if it does not go away w/ proper hydration (4-6oz an hour) in a couple of days I would call the dr's office.

Yes its normal.
When you have an anaesthetic they put a tube down your throat to help you breathe.
It should get better in a day or so

Yes, your throat will hurt sometimes from being intubated while under anesthesia. That means they run a tube down your throat to your trachea to assist your breathing while you are under effects of anesthesia.
