It seems like a lot of people in government are pushing global warming, especially people like Al Gore and forcing kids to watch his video.

So I'm wondering who's contributing to the politicians in order to generate the hysteria? Help me follow the money.

U.S. Gas companies - we're paying for a non-renewable source of energy. At the same time we're paying for the (imaginary) development of new types of fuel.

U.S. Car Manufacturers - Auto companies are now offering new "green" cars that use less gas and produce fewer emissions. Of course that means we need to replace our old cars.

U.S. Companies developing alternative power sources. Pandering to the environmentalists they offer products to convert light and wind into electricity. Of course they're careful not to provide any information on the amount of energy and/or pollution required to create these technologies.

U.S. Battery manufacturers - storing energy with 100 year old technology. (Note that from their perspective, it's counterproductive for batteries to be more efficient)

U.S. Politicians - they generate easy votes when they support feel-good policies that may or may not actually make a difference but definitely cost the tax payers more.

Environmental groups (worldwide) - these groups are the clergy for new environmental policies. It's amazing the world existed before these groups existed.

The 'Kyoto Accords' would force all of the 'developed' western countries to develop new (and cleaner) energy sources while allowing undeveloped countries to continue using coal, oil, and gasoline. This would certainly give the currently undeveloped countries a very highly tilted playing field as far as international manufacturing costs are concerned.

And Al ('I invented the Internet') Gore is heavily involved with one of the largest of the many 3'rd world investment companies who stand to make billions by investing in 3'rd world manufacturing operations.

And don't misunderstand me, we should certainly all be ashamed of the mess we've made of our environment. And we should damned sure be doing something about it. But I really don't think that making a few billionaires even richer is the solution ☺
