He came from a very rich family so never really had a job per se. He went to college, joined the Navy and then ran for office. He was a Senator before he became President. I don't know where these answerers got the idea he was a lawyer, he was not. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Harvard, specializing in "International Affairs."

After graduating from Harvard *** laude with a bachelor of science degree in 1940, Kennedy enrolled at Stanford University for graduate studies.

Senator and i do beleive he was a pilot. You know what i say, "Anyone who does not like Kennedy kisses the Ground Gobachev walked and Admires Fidel Castro."

He was a Navy hero, a lawyer, a senator and then Prez. By joining the Navy during WW2, he did not take the easy road to success. Oh, he was awarded several commdations for his action during the war including the purple heart.

In the private sector, he was a lawyer prior to joining public life. He served as a US Senator immediately before being elected to President.
