here's my situation. I got a white homie that is a good homie. but he drops the n word every once in a while. now, I'm not black ... but I'm not white either so this word really don't fly well with me. I've told him over and over to stop using it because it is an offensive word but he insists that his black homies don't mind so I shouldn't. but I do! and I don't know how to explain it to him any more than I already have, that I don't like it when white people or even non-black minorities use that word ESPECIALLY when they were not brought up that way and in that type of environment.
so, how do I tell him without droppin him? and should I even be trippin over it or what?

That's a difficult situation, you might have to check him. A real friend would recognize when a line has been crossed, regardless of how other people around you feel about it. Just have the discussion with him once more, and tell him you're giving him one more time to come out of his mouth with that craziness, then if need be, drop him [and by 'drop' I don't know if you mean either physically drop him on his head, or drop him as a friend, in which case I'm inclined to suggest both]. Seriously though, if he respects you, he won't use it around you [because YOU don't like it], if not then do you really want a friend like that?

Tell him that he can use the word around his black friends, but you can't tolerate it. When he uses the word around you, walk away. Just stop the conversation and walk away. When he asks for an explanation, just repeat what you've already said. "I can't stand that word, and I'm not hearing it". It's about respect. If he's your friend, then surely he can control his language around you, and refrain from using the one word that offends you.
I had a guy friend who was in the habit of using the term "broad" for women. I did the same thing, and he stopped using the word around me. It's not that big of a deal, but if your friend hated the word "cracker", and you used it all the time, he might feel differently.

Tell him again and then just don't hang with him anymore. It the same as him calling you a @****** at some point you'd stop kicking it with him righ? If it offends you it does. That's that. I bet you he could keep it out of his mouth in Compton.
Simply say that it offends you, and is offensive to be in his presence when he says a word that it so offensive to others. nuff said. It's a word that like B is offensive to women. I know women who would shoot a man for the b word.

Man dawg, you gotta just let him know you DO have a problem with it so if he still wants to hang, he's gonna have to stop using it. Black people don't validate a word's acceptability. The person saying it and the person they are talking to are the ones that have to validate it. If you don't agree, it shouldn't be used... Period. I'm black by the way and I think you asked a great question.

Well beat his ***, the other brothas should have your back since it's a white boy saying it, wether they let him or not. Maybe they don't like it either but don't do any thing about it. Talk to some of his homies.

it doesn't matter what color you are if you find something offensive then your friend should respect it. I am white and i find that word to be one of the worst words in our vocabulary. it should never be used in my opionion, for what it stands for it is just horrible. i would just tell him that i don't care what our other friends like or dont like, it is offensive to me and that you should respect that.
stick to your values and don't let up

i think there shouldn't be a double standard, either no one get to say it or everyone, f u c k is bad for everyone. so either Niger should be bad for everyone to say, or, it should be acceptable word for everyone to say. no more double standards
