Have you asked for one? You don't usually get something without asking for it. Ask for a meeting with your boss and go into it armed with a mental list of your good qualities. Even if you don't get what you want, don't have a meltdown or leave on a bad note. This person has to write you a recommendation for your next job and will likely write you a good one if you conduct yourself in a professional manner even if you receive disappointing news. If the news is positive, of course you will be happy, If not, thank him or her for their time and consideration, shake their hand, and leave. But start looking for another job and then ask for a letter of recommendation and say I hope you understand. I hate to leave you but my situation is such that I need more income to get by (or whatever)... Good luck!

It's your fault. You should not stay in any job for more than 24 months without getting a raise. Every day you come back to work you are telling your employer that it's ok. There is no excuse.

Don't know how to tell you this, you have been taken advantage of. If you haven't spoken up and demanded a raise, they won't now. Don't be so introverted. Look for another job. Don't complain-it's your fault.
