the best thing about culture is that it is not the same as ethnicity. your culture is how you were raised translated into how you live. so a lot of people that say they have no culture really do have a culture but maybe just don't see it.
I'm Samoan/Hawaiian/Japanese and I take a lot of things that were passed down through all those ethnicities on as my culture. honor, respect, gratitude, love are all things that I get from those cultures. but there are many "cultural" things in each of those groups that I choose not to live. (I won't name them because I don't want to offend anyone) so I'm making my own culture.
these beliefs and practices that I do, I will teach to my kids and it will become their culture if they choose. I will also teach them their heritage and where all these beliefs came from so they can choose from these things too. and the cycle perpetuates.
so in answer to your question, I really do care about my culture because my culture defines who I am.

My culture is Scottish, with a small bit of Irish mixed in for good measure. Yes, I do care about my culture and mixing my culture with my husband's, which is Puerto Rican, Spanish, and Basque. I think it's important for us to remember where we came from and to integrate our cultures into the family.

My culture is white, if I declare it, or exhibit any sort of pride about it, I get shot down as being racist.
