i think they are very selfish and ignorant...just because someone is different does not mean that they do not have feelings and do not deserve to be treated fairly...people who make fun of others show how stupid they are...they reveal more about themselves by doing so

I think it's pretty pathetic when anyone has to make fun of someone different than them in order to feel better about themself. It's shallow and mean-spirited.
There is humor in how "normal" people react to people with disabilities...a movie that got this right was "The Ringer", where Johnny Knoxville pretends to have a developmental disability in order to compete in the Special Olympics. It portrayed the disabled athletes as what they are -- people; not perfect, not inferior, just people (who were able to laugh at themselves, by the way). Then it went on to find the humor in the dumb things the rest of the world does when interacting with them.

The only time when it is funny to laugh at them is when they are trying to fight each other, like fist fight ya it's funny. No other time though.

The people who are really mentally retarded don't realize you're laughing at them and just end up laughing along with you. If it doesn't offend them, then go ahead and laugh at them.
