check out the stats before you go off with your stereotypical rant. Who Really cares is a book by Arthur Brooks, a professor at Syracuse University. He also discovered that Rich Liberals in San Francisco give far less than much poorer conservatives. Liberals love to attack conservatives on this issue, and often say Republicans do not care about the poor. Interesting...because it looks like the opposite, unless it's someone else's money.

18% more likely to give blood? I've been donating blood for over 30 years in 3 countries and 5 states within the U.S. but the interviews have never included my political leanings.

I suspect you mean that conservatives are 18% more likely to say they give blood.

once you comprise churches, conservatives provide a touch smaller proportion of their income to charity than liberals do (yet Libs have extra disposable income and Cons much less because of the fact of what they gave in tithing). whether churches are additionally very super charitable businesses who run soup kitchens, artwork rigidity coaching centers, homeless and girls persons's shelters, worldwide alleviation courses and extra. Conservatives additionally spend extra of their time volunteering than liberals. The left has been attempting to stereotype the appropriate as inhumane human beings whose motivation is pushed through greed and faith and the alternative frequently seems to be real. Conservatives are extra giving and charitable; a huge distinction being that Libs choose the government to take the placement of charity on an identical time as conservatives have self assurance in inner maximum charity.

Liberals support tax-payer sponsored social programs that they pay into. It's just a difference in perspective.

I'm familiar with the book but am unaware of the details/structure of the study. Who knows...It could very well even out in the end. Blue states tend to have higher more generous welfare programs and such, resulting in higher taxes - the rich liberal San Franciscans may pay as much out in taxes to social programs as a conservative Texan pays out in donations.

Personally, I'm a Libertarian and oppose most social programs.

I think there's probably a logical answer. Blue State areas are more heavily taxed than Red State areas so Conservatives have more excess cash than do Liberals. Maybe Liberals think government should take care of the downtrodden so they let them. Maybe it's because all those Right Wing Christian Conservatives give more. Or maybe more Conservatives give to their churches? This is perplexing. I don't think it's because Conservatives are actually kinder and more generous than our Liberal brethren? Are they?

Liberals leave it up to the government because they believe is their job to take care of the poor. Conservatives take it upon themselves to donate more because they don't believe in government welfare.

Because Liberals only like to put out the "image" that they care.

the problem is they care more for criminals (because they are disadvantaged right), drug dealers, illegal immigrants, and welfare recipients that are too lazy to work than they do about honest, hard-working middle class citizens who are the backbone of this country and who are increasingly forgotten.

To get to the core of this issue, it really does help if you understand the Liberal Mind.

Let me explain to you the Liberal Mindset:

What the liberal mind is passionate about:
a world filled with pity, sorrow, neediness, misfortune, poverty, suspicion, mistrust, anger, exploitation, discrimination, victimization, alienation and injustice

Those who occupy this world are:
“workers,” “minorities,” “the little guy,” “women,” and the “unemployed.” They are poor, weak, sick, wronged, cheated, oppressed, disenfranchised, exploited and victimized.

All this pain lies in:
faulty social conditions: poverty, disease, war, ignorance, unemployment, racial prejudice, ethnic and gender discrimination, modern technology, capitalism, globalization and imperialism.

This suffering is inflicted on the innocent by:
“Big Business,” “Big Corporations,” “greedy capitalists,” U.S. Imperialists,” “the oppressors,” “the rich,” “the wealthy,” “the powerful” and “the selfish.”

None of their agonies are attributable to:
faults or failings of their own: not to poor choices, bad habits, faulty judgment, wishful thinking, lack of ambition, low frustration tolerance, mental illness or defects in character.

The liberal cure:
is a very large authoritarian government that regulates and manages society through a cradle to grave agenda of redistributive caretaking. It is a government everywhere doing everything for everyone. The liberal motto is “In Government We Trust.”

To rescue the people from their troubled lives, the agenda recommends denial of personal responsibility, encourages self-pity and other-pity, fosters government dependency, promotes sexual indulgence, rationalizes violence, excuses financial obligation, justifies theft, ignores rudeness, prescribes complaining and blaming, denigrates marriage and the family, legalizes all abortion, defies religious and social tradition, declares inequality unjust, and rebels against the duties of citizenship.

Through multiple entitlements to unearned goods, services and social status, the liberal politician promises to ensure everyone’s material welfare, provide for everyone’s healthcare, protect everyone’s self-esteem, correct everyone’s social and political disadvantage, educate every citizen, and eliminate all class distinctions.

With liberal intellectuals sharing the glory, the liberal politician is the hero in this melodrama. He takes credit for providing his constituents with whatever they want or need even though he has not produced by his own effort any of the goods, services or status transferred to them but has instead taken them from others by force.

Now, that should better help you understand what you are dealing with when you try to apply any type of common sense to the situation when trying to understand the actions of the so called "progressives".

They have to give money to charity or someplace or they get taxed on it just sitting in the account. Believe me I know, I have to give loans to family members for this reason. You have to keep your money moving. It's just a cover to try and make us look good. My daddy taught me the ropes; on paper I'm a conservative but in my heart I'm a liberal.

What can I say.....IT'S TRUE!

Liberals believe in the welfare state (not welfare abuse) and republicans feel guilty every Christmas and give a little to charity before they begin whining about taxes and welfare. I don't mind paying taxes to support a welfare state, I wish we would do more to limit welfare abuses, but I don't give one yankee dime to the poor.
