Most doctors won't let you go past 42 weeks. Check with that doctor again.Ask him/her why he/she is waiting ?

Good luck.

If you are 43 weeks by your due date and/ or your sonogram date, you are late. You really should see another doctor. The placenta stops being able to provide adequate nutrition for the baby after a certain amount of time. If you had signs of impending labor maybe the doctor wanted to wait a few days to see if you would go on your own. When did the doctor suggest inducement? At this point you all should definately be talking about that. Call your doctor and ask what "just fine" means. Ask how long he will wait till inducement; ask how long your baby can be sustained sufficiently. Normally, doctors do not like to let women progress past 42 weeks. However, if there was a discrepancy in your dates, the doctor may be erring on the side of caution. Write down your questions and then place a call to him. If he cannot fully answer your questions; call back, talk to the nurse; then talk to the doctor again. Sometimes you have to be persistant. Take Care.

Are you SURE you meant 43 weeks? That would be THREE weeks past due, and ANY doctor in his right mind would have induced by now. It will begin to put your baby more and more at risk every day you go past the 40 week mark!

Run, don't walk, to a different doctor immediately! You are putting yourself and your baby at risk if you're at 43 weeks!!!!!

Most doctors will induce labor if you go past 42 weeks. I honestly don't know what to say.

i think that is quite unusual- i would tell your doc that you are anxious about being able to deliver the baby vaginally if it gets bigger, and that you are worried about deterioration of the placenta. if he/she can answer effectively then i guess you have to grin and bear it. But i would make sure they understand that you are having trouble with it
