Funny, it seems to be the newer, trendy names that are VERY common. Unlike the classics such as Richard and Thomas. However, you might want to consider:

Deacon Mitchell
Deacon Carter
Deacon Jack
I like the name Deacon.

No matter what you put with Deacon your child will still bare a moniker related to the church. Maybe you could consider it for a middle name?
I have to agree that the "trendy" names are becoming the popular, everyday choices by many new parents thus making the more conventional names unique in today's society.

I have always always loved the name Deacon! It's not too 'different' or weird... and has a spelling that won't haunt him the rest of his life or make him start to use his middle name instead. LOL.
I don't know about middle names because I don't know you or your style. But I like the first name choice.

i think of Avalon is so stunning, i easily like it. Ava or Lonnie, or Val. Avalon Grace is cute and Avalon Briar is so stunning.
