Absolutely! You should not have sexual activity with anyone until you are absolutely ready mentally, physically, and emotionally. For some young people this age is younger, and for others it may be significantly older. Many, many people do not lose their virginity until well after age 16 and it is totally normal.

Yes it is normal to be a virgin at 16. I was a virgin at 16 and now at age 35 I'm still a virgin.

Yes, totally! Some people are virgins at the age of 30!!! The normal age to lose your virginity is at 20 or 22 or something like that. But yes, dont try to have sex early you might just ruin your life for a wrong decision!

Yeah it's normal, I know a lot of girls and guys who are. It's no big deal. In fact, I am too. I have a great boyfriend I love him very much. He respects that I want to wait and he's waiting for me too, said he didn't want me to leave because I wasn't ready :] sweet. Anyways, don't worry about it and do it when you're ready and with the right person for you, he'll probably appreciate it, I bet the first times something you remember forever.

Completely normal. Going out to have sex just because you think everyone else isn't a virgin is a very stupid idea. Wait till you find HIM.

I lost my virginity at 16. Hold on to hit babe. I quit having sex for 2 years now because the drama gets old after a while. I'm waiting again until I find someone who truly cares about me. If it makes you feel any better.. one of my roommates didn't loose hers until she was 22 and when she did she ended up with a baby 9mo later with an asshole of a father for the baby. My other roommate is about to be 24 and she is still a virgin. Think about it.

This is completely normal. I would not worry about it. I didn't even kiss a boy until a month before my 15 b-day!!

I know several girls who basically couldn't keep up in conversation and so they decided to have sex. Now one in particular says she is happy but it seems like she is tuck in the relationship now.

Age is not a factor you should waite until you are comfortable and have someone who is special to you to share that with. Your first time will likely not be as romantic as you picture. It will probably be awkward, a little embarrassing, and kind of strange.

I know that is not what we hope for but it is the truth which is why it is very important to be comfortable with yourself and your partner.

Why wouldn't it be? If you're thinking of tossing away your virginity because "everyone else has had sex" then 1/2 of them are liars and the other half are tramps. Don't keep up with the Jones' in this category. Keep your pants on till YOU are ready and willing to have sex, and not a moment sooner.
