Your best friend's husband made a comment about your husband's job?

ignore him...you don't need to give him the satifaction of knowing he got to you...be proud of your husband and just let it go.

Ignore it. It was probably meant as a joke, and even though it was in poor taste, bringing it up will make everyone uncomfortable, and will solve nothing except to create hard feelings. This is a situation where the less said, the better.

It's hard for couples to be friends with other couples, it's really rare. Usually the women get along, and the men simply tolerate each other, or vice versa. You have your friends, your husband has his, and everyone's happy.

You mean your best friend's (bff) husband made a demeaning about your hubby's work. Well is he your hubby's boss ? If not ask him who grades him on his work ? Or who is he to grade your hubby on his work. Heck if your bff friend can't say something when her doof of a husband insults, then some bff you have. Let her know that her husband's comment was insulting and that you think he should apologize.

I'm confused... "husband of your bf" and you have a husband? You have more problems then just this comment/joke.
Regardless my suggestion is to keep out of this testosterone battle.

I think you have two options. The first is to ignore the comment. The second is to confront your best friends husband. If you choose to ignore the comment, and it happends again, you would then have to confront the b/f husband. Good luck!

Was the comment out of character for him? Sometimes we blurt out things that we know we shouldn't have once they are out there. What kind of person is this man? If this was a one time out of character comment, I think you show your character and ignore it. If the comment was part of a larger picture you may want to limit your exposure to him, and share your hurt feelings with your best friend.

You should do nothing.

I'm amazed that you would even think of doing anything. Do you hate your husband? For you to speak up on his behalf would be emasculating for him. Why don't you just neuter him in front of everyone instead, works out the same.

Unbelievable...

When someone makes nasty comments, I usually look at them and say "Why would you say something like that?" It's not rude, but it puts them on notice. If the moment has already passed, ignore it. If it happens again, address it that way.

Simple...call him on it and stand by your man!! If it bothered you, say something! You have the right. Wouldn't you want your husband to say something if the roles were reversed??
