Or could you just go without and be happy with your freedom. Why or why not?

No. I have a niece and nephew who are like my own son and daughter. Besides, I like being the "fun" aunt that can go anywhere whenever I want.

The Earth is overpopulated, we could stand to cut down. Just because we know how to muck it up doesn't make us a superior species.

I have given really serious thought about this for a long time because I'd like to be free but at the same pass the torch.

I believe it is a complete biological necessity to do it so the question that remains:
What is the best way?
Traditional wisdom is dead since long time ago and only social robots drag its dead body expecting you to do the same and shame and criticize you because you want to be free.
So again what is the best way to do it?
I think everybody should craft their own personal solution; I suspect a big chunk of it is what the other future parent thinks, so the formula I'm developing is first figure out how I want to live my freedom and then look for traits and views in future couples just as you look for education, looks, etc. that allow me to fulfill my goal (since the other person is inclined to your solution because of the mentioned traits.)

so good luck with your quest.

Yes, I want children at some point. I think after living the single life and having fun, I would want to go home and watch a movie with my family.
