Why do men cheat on their wives? Does the sex get old? Do they find their wives unattractive? Is it a fantasy? Is it because thier wives don't give it up anymore? Or is it just because you can't keep it in your pants?

I wasn't cheated on, but I just want to prevent it from ever happening to me. I'm very paranoid about the subject. My father cheated on my mom.

Hmmmm.......Too many reasons to count.
I would say the main ones are:
1. Wife does not do her wifely duties.
2. Wife is not accomidating to his sexual needs. Perhaps he has a small harmless fantasy and she says no. Or perhaps she is not very pleasing in bed.... Perhaps sex gets to be too scripted and routine.... E.g. Be willing to do the small things occasionally to please him (eg. shave it if he likes it). In return he should be willing to do the same for you..
3. Ego. A second woman starts flirting with him heavily. He feels flattered to be the object of attraction and acts on it. The best defense to this is to knowing how to make your man feel attractive and "manly".
4. Unhappy marriage.
5. Wife loses her desire to make herself attractive to her husband... Opposite of a "trophy wife".

Sounds like you may already know the answer. Not all men cheat but the ones that do would fit into any one of the categories you listed. It's not just any one that is the reason. They each have their own and none of them are right. It's wrong. Unfortunately many men ask this question about wives. Women do it too, often for the same reasons. Sounds like you've been cheated on. I feel for ya.

Woman cheat too. Men are not as perceptive of the small details so women do tend to get away with it a lot longer.
Any of your thoughts could be reasons why a man would cheat. I do think when a woman starts using sex and punishment and reward the guy does finally get fed up with it in many instances.

I'm not a man either but I can also answer this, some men just can't help it! others do it because they are bored with the wife, some do it because they have a need to spice things up for them and forget who's getting hurt! It really depends on the man and what's going on in there relationship. Remember women cheat too, and most of the time it's because she's not emotionally connected to her husband and is looking for someone to find her sexy again, and I'll bet men do it for that same reason too.

I wonder the samething. Is there anything I can do to prevent it from happening to me. I have made it this far but If I know hints to prevent it in the future I will do what it takes to have my husband not cheat.
It is true, that men are like babys. They really are and need all that special attention. Sometimes I wonder though if all the extra work and attention is worth it. I try my best and thats all we can do sometimes.

Could be one of a million reasons but it comes down to one thing; opportunity. Without opportunity, the temptation is not present and therefore cannot happen. Men usually think with their little head so it doesnt have to really be a big opportunity for a man to react without thinking about consequences

Well there are a lot of reasons:
sometimes if men get married before they have time to party, explore sex with multiple women etc. most of the times is because, yes sex gets old with the same woman (can you eat steak for the rest of your life?) exactly! ..unrealistic goals or expectations that men can only have sex with the wife is ridiculous. women sometimes get fat, lazy and don't look attractive for their man once they get married. they cut their hair and look like lesbians (what men would want to have sex?) most American women, have lost the feminine touch and over time is just not enough to keep men interested.

selfishness causes betrayal, the justify it by coming up with all these excuses but its just plain bad character, and no conscience. its a lack of belief in god. sometimes when the honeymoon stage ends, they get bored and find someone else its the excitement, the chase, but not love. just immature men do this.
