hi , i made trip to dalhousie few months back.
although people may say u can do this & u can do that. fact is there is nothing much to do like most of indian hill stations! but that will not suffice for you. so here is the list
subhash baoli- you can easily skip this place.
khajjiar- do visit this place. if u are on honeymoon u can even opt for staying here from choice of 8-10 hotels. the views are great, and there are woods where couple can get plenty of privacy. however, if are friends travelling togather then also it is worth the stay. people with kids might have some problem in keeping them engaged.
punjpulla- nothing great.but if you are trekking enthusiast, u can take a walk in woods alongwith the waterfall/ river. the forest is in absolute natural state.
chamera dam- enroute to chamba. looks beautiful from distance. boating is possible on dam. there is temple on this route.
walk- walk around the dalhousie on thandi & garam sarak. this will be the best thing to do.
churches- there are 4 churches in the town, however the best one is on subhash chowk. this is maintained well. there are plenty of birds (special interest for kids) and amongst them is turkeys!!
tibetan bazar- loacted on gandhi chowk will be quite interesting with many exclusive items at good price.. need to bargain.
kalatop sanctury/ lakkar mandi-during winter months, this becomes snow point where one can have snow throwing competition! otherwise, nothing much except walk in the woods. the way from here leads to dain kund -which gives excellent view; esp four rivers can be seen from here. (one also gets signal of paktel -GSM service of pakistan, if one were to search for signal from mobile).
horse riding -kids can enjoy horse riding on gandhi chowk -on thandi sarak.
apart from this you shop in market located on gandhi chowk. eat plenty of ice cream. for food the best place would be gujrati restaurant located near bus stand-the place is little run down, but serves best vegetarian food in the town. keep in mind that dalhouise had 3 taxi stands & there is strong unionism.

There are plentiful of spots in and around Dalhousie.
Panchpulla, Subhash Baoli, St Andrews church, Laxmi Narayan temple. You can stroll in the bazaar area for tibetan goods.
Kalatope is a wildlife sanctuary on the way to Khajjiar. About 8 kms from Dalhousie. You can travel further to Khajjiar- popularly known as "mini switzerland'.
On the way to Dalhousie, you can visit about 150 years old Nag Temple.
From Dalhousie you can also travel to Chamba, about 52 kms from Dalhousie. Enroute, you can enjoy beautiful views of the large dam. Several ancient temples are worth visiting in this small town. There's a properly maintained museum, worth visiting. You can experiece the "thunder" of the Irawati river here. Be very cautious- best is do not venture near this river. You can easily spend a couple of days in this town. Really worth it. Hotel Irawati is HPTDC hotel.. good food and stay.
Wish you a memorable stay and moments there.
