First you need to distinguish between a geek, a nerd, and a dork.
A geek is a person with an unbalance. They are usually obsessed with something, i.e. Star Trek, Anime, computers, etc.
A nerd is a person who is intelligent and enjoys the pursuit of knowledge and academics. They usually spend more time reading books than socializing with people.
A dork is a person who does not fit into society. They dress and act differently than the status-quo.
A geek may be obsessed with subjects that would make them very effective serial killers. Obsession with weapons or biology/anatomy are examples.
People who are very educated can not only be more effective killers, but they can devise more effective plans so as not to get caught committing the crime. Also, psychological problems usually lead to imbalance in these peoples' lives, creating the motif for them to be killers.

Everyone has their breaking point...
Many of those "Geeks" were probably abused as children, whether physically, emotionally, or psychologically. They were treated a certain way, or taught by someone they were supposed to trust, and they probably reached a point where they snapped and they pulled the trigger in response. The kids who shot up Columbine had been harassed by their schoolmates - their only way to remove the problem was to kill everybody. Some serial killers had problems with their mothers. Some had a chemical imbalance, some had anxieties, some just had problems with society. But they all had a breaking point, and they all broke.
It might be an idea to take a good look at how you treat other people. Believe it or not, kindness and forgiveness can go a long way towards changing the world.

Is that the definition of a geek? Those with a vast knowledge in biology and anatomy?
Based on your logic, why do frat boys participate in date rape? Or drive mustangs?
Mental Illness or murderous ambitions or inherent evil stretches across the board and not just limited to the "geek social class."

Push anyone enough and eventually they will vent their frustrations in some way. Geeks are typically picked on their entire lives...should we be suprised when one of them flips out once in a while?

I guess that ruins the stereotype of what we think serial killers look like.

I'm sorry if I offended anyone with my previous answer. Especially the asker of the question. Who was so offended that he told me he touched my mom before she had me. Lame joke, but I get where he was going with it.

Because they have allowed demons to enter in to them and as they do, these demons will do the evil in which they are themselves. If these people had surrendered their lives to Christ, their outcome would have been different...
