Your fingernails are yellow because you had nail-polish on them for too long. You need to let them breath. I suggest giving yourself a manicure. Buff and smooth the nails very well. Do not polish them for at least a week.

Not always because you wear polish for too long. I had pale/neutral polish on for 48 hours - before that my nails had been bare for months. After removing the polish (and I had a protective base coat on before the polish) my nails were yellow.

This happens a lot when you use dark colour polish. Try soaking them in water with the juice from a lemon. If that doesn't work take two denture tablets and dissolve in one cup water. Dip your nails in the mixture, and they should turn white instantly. Next time you use a dark colour try using a base coat (L'Oreal makes a really good formaldehyde-free one).

Do you usually wear dark colors of nail polish?
If you don't, then it is probably that your nails were not ready for the dark color.
Next time, try a lighter shade, and prep your nails for the darker color.
At this point, it would be best to just let it run its course
hope this helps

Your nails are stained from the polish you used. Buff your nails. That should remove the stains.

A simple home remedy is (LEMON). Simply soak your nails in lemon and then use a new toothbrush to brush all the smaller areas and underneath your finger nails. GOOD LUCK!

before you paint your nails a dark color, always apply clear polish first. There is something in the dye that stains your nails.

This should be a good lesson not to use fingernail polish period, not only is it very unclassy, it is soooo bad for your nails.
