The freckle fairy takes them back to heaven and recycles them for the next group of children that need them [ she is a cousin of the tooth fairy! ]
Seriously, they fade, but don't always disappear - it seems to depend on hair color, freckle size, and color intensity of the freckle.
If you had 'mild' freckling, the new skin cells replaced the old, without the added sun you got the first time. But, you could still get new ones....

do you miss them? i think i would rather want them gone its easier to wear makeup and stuff
but they prob. just faded

they faded, i guess. thats kinda odd. i've had frckles ever since i was little, but they're still here...
