I heard it was Rev. Phelps and the anti-gay Westboro Baptist Church that was doing it. Why blame Liberals for some Church's behavior?

That shows a lack of respect for the recently deceased. The people at the Westboro Baptist Church should be run out of this country.

i do no longer think of that Rosa Parks gained a state funeral. She could have had a very prominent funeral, attended via many cutting-edge and previous leaders of state, yet i do no longer think of it replaced into paid for via the government. There probable would be/already are many monuments and memorials errected in her honor with state money, yet that's yet another venture completely. permit's see how many dignitaries take place at Mr. Falwell's funeral. extra importantly, permit's see how lots $$$ is appropriated on the state and nationwide stages for memorials and monuments to Mr. Falwell's eternal glory. the actuality of the venture is that Rosa parks is an American hero and icon. She gave delivery to the civil rights flow while she stood up for justice and freedom. Jerry Falwell replaced right into a 2-bit huckster who stole from the gullible and preached organic, unadulterated hate. i do no longer see the appropriate assessment. One walked in Jesus's footsteps (Parks for the traditionally challenged), the different in devil's...

It says a lot about a person or organization's "class" if they have political protests at a FUNERAL. I had no love of Jerry Falwell, but having a protest at somebody's funeral is one line I hope I NEVER cross - its just too low to even consider.

That crazy Westboro church and Falwell were not true Christians.

Concentrate on the Christians that live their lives peacefully and genuinely, you know-- the anti-sharptons, anti-falwells and the like.

Ya that's pretty strange. Some folks would rather stir up cr@p with incendiary words and remarks than to cause thought by reporting the truth.

The news media states that it was the mentioned church group involved.

It was the Westboro Baptist Church. They would be considered as conservative as can be.

I haven't anyone characterize them as 'liberals'. However, if they have it would be an extremely sad testament to partisan mud slinging and what is really going on.

These are cultists. They hide under the name of a church. To call them Conservative is an insult. There is no ideology attached to these people. It's called Hate.

Matthew 7

15 "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. 16 You will know them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thorns, or figs from thistles? 17 So, every sound tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears evil fruit. 18 A sound tree cannot bear evil fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Thus you will know them by their fruits. 21 "Not every one who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 On that day many will say to me, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?' 23 And then will I declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from me, you evildoers.'

Have you aligned with the political right to the detriment of Christian principles? While pointing out the sins of the left have you ignored the sins of the right (ROMANS 3:23) ? Remember that political arguments are temporary while people on both sides of the aisle are eternal (ROMANS 1:13-16).

Have you deferred to the rich at the expense of the poor? Have you forgotten that even the best arguments for capitalism do not justify oppression, mistreatment or disregard for those in need (JAMES 2:1-9)?

Have you directly or made choices that result in abuse of God's Creation? From the first pages of the Bible, we are instructed to "cultivate and care for" God's Creation (Genesis 2:15). Created in the image and likeness of God, we are granted dominion over the rest of Creation (Genesis 1:26-28). We are to cultivate and care for the Earth as God does, with love and wisdom.

Are you a self-appointed protector of American culture? Are you associated with those who use our Judeo-Christian roots to support political efforts that alienate others from the gospel? Are you entertained by false prophets who claim to speak for the Lord Jesus Christ, but who's fruit do not have the sweet scent of our Lord (MATTHEW 7:13, 24:11)?

If you are a religious conservative, please pray this prayer:

Father, please help us to avoid the mistakes of those who defended your Word, Your people, and Your laws while hating Your Son-and those for whom He died
