First gain their confidence. You do that by showing you respect them and their ideas. You talk with them not at them. If you can get them from NO to the point of well I just don't know, maybe, could be, etc. Now you have a possibility of changing their opinion to go along with you.
If you can't get them past No after 3 tries you are wasting your time and theirs. Find someone else.

You have to make them think it was their idea. Plant the seed of the idea and let it germinate. It really works, I use this all the time on my partner.
