Could he have played - absolutely! Should he play, I am not so sure. To be in a profession where you are constantly beat up, you have to want to be doing it and have a great love for it. I don't believe that Keyshawn has a great love for anyone but Keyshawn and with Michael Irvin gone, ESPN is looking for an overrated loudmouth to fill that desk spot.

I think he could still play, but has earned the right to retire. He doesn't want to accept a #3 receiver type role which is what he'd probably get. It's probably good for him to retire as long as he won't regret it later.

Also... the guy's mouth belongs in a circus... he'll be great on ESPN.

The writings are on the wall. No decent team was slightly interested in him. He is another prima donna who couldn't be a team player if you paid him millions to do so. The only thing worse is if ESPN is dumb enough to hire him as a commentator...DOOOHHHHHH!

It's better to go out knowing you can still be productive and having other teams know it than being washed up and in the league too long.

Yes, I know it is his life, but if he really loves the sport, he would stick with. Think about how long Jerry Rice was in the NFL.

Good ball player but he lost the edge. If the player is true to himself he knows when to hang it up.
