You could totally cheat and copy the "West Side Story" soundtrack!
A few other suggestions (sorry, I really don't know much "new" music):

"behind blue eyes" -the who
"happiness is a warm gun" - the beatles
"hey you" - pink floyd
"street fighting man" - stones
songs of alienation, violence, and redemption. You get the idea.

u could go with lots of elvis and beatles. after all, the greasers the=ought elvis was tuff, and the socs thought the beatles were in. but obviously more elvis than beatles
