Socrates might, as he would go to the market in Athens because that's where people congregated, as people do, in a sense, congregate online, he might too. Plato, on the other hand would only be online if he found his Socrates there. Confucious most assuredly wouldn't have been online as there is no advisory position to real power online. Lao-Tzu would be that one person that still goes to the park on nice days.

Philosophers would be the first to know that a their thoughts are useful only if they are shared with others. So, if Yahoo! Answers is a good platform to teach and learn, for sure they wouldn't reject the idea. Now if your question is: what about the quality of the questions and the answers? ... no comment!

i think of so, yet i'm no longer a form of real 'philosophers'. isn't it too lots to anticipate absolutely everyone in the prominent experience to be thoroughly dedicated to 'the affection of know-how'? Your question seems to be a intense one, and that i'm hoping I relatively have replied it wisely. yet enable us to flow extra. Your grievance seems to be with those in right here who in uncomplicated terms take area in one in each and every of those 'oneupmanship and wordplay'. Agreed, those types are annoying, nonetheless, some questions seem to cry out for the style of sarcasm and diffused denunciation that usually includes 'observe play'. The oneupmanship responses are often as annoying as a results of fact the badly-worded questions. Eagle.

They wouldn't be doing it on Yahoo! Answers. Philosophy requires contemplation and discussion, something which Y!A does not provide (there's no give and take). Additionally, few of the people who post on Yahoo! Answers seem to have actually studied philosophy at all, resulting in a plethora of irrelevant, repetitive, confused, and confused questions.

They would certainly marvel at the fact that all of humanity can freely share information on the internet. I am a child of this generation and it still amazes me what the potential of the internet is for the body of human knowledge. But, I think that they would probably spend more time on Wikipedia. I know I do.

A true philosopher probably would not. A poser philosopher would. I'm not sure what that says about me.

Yes, this is a place to converge and ask the meaningful questions in life. ...exept those rookies who KEEP asking the same, "What is the meaning of life?" questions.
