For the cartoon creatures to nick them....

To get them to cool quicker but I think its really a stereotype, a bit like ... as a North Easterner, I'm supposed to go around clubbing shouting 'Aareet, pet? ... why aye, man'

If I have ever said those words and I am a born and bred Mackem, it's usually been in parody.

Also, I have never been in a nightclub in my life. The last time I was in a pub was Christmas Night, the whole shift was going for a drink after work and I eventually agreed to go too and had four pints of cola.

I have never seen a pie put on a window sill in the real world......stop watching so much television and get out a little more in the fresh air.

I can see why they complained - you should NEVER show your undergarments at work - that is so unprofessional. OMG I cannot believe you did that, I am so sorry, but putting them to dry in a window sill? at work? Um no - if that was the case, either leave work, or put them in a little plastic bag in your purse. In a professional setting, you should never divulge any personal info, and panties are the ultimate in personal..... Do you really want your boss or their boss to see your panties? I mean, please, think about that.........

There is no way on Gods given Earth, ANY American could wait long enough to actually finish making the pie, let alone cool one down

They don't ....it's a cliche. That's like asking, why do all American's wear levis and drink Coke or why do all Brits have bad teeth or why are the French rude and smelly....OK well the last one is OK but the others...!

Ideally to cool off, unless it's hot out. But then if the sun is shining then it may be to keep it warm. Who knows? I've never known anyone to do that.

To cool them down and so that the neighbours can smell it wafting outside. It just encourages flies to spew on it though, if you ask me.
