Im going to Michigan State and they dont have a degree for actuarial science. I was thinking about degrees in math and business? Any input would be excellent.

There is an actuarial science specialization within the math department.

Definitely mathematics first. Go heavy on the statistics and analysis courses. You will also need the business courses. Try to take at least one actuarial exam before graduation. You can find sample tests on-line, or contact the Society of Actuaries, in Schaumburg, Illinois. They can provide you with information and materials. Here's their website:

Take classes in advanced mathematics, statistics, economics (including econometrics), accounting and finance.

Statistics and econometrics will be the most useful for you.

math would be good... statistics may be something to consider.... also a doctorate in some sort of math would also be best.
