yes that's why no western country made it to the final but still many of their songs were very nice like Cyprus and Austria.

Did you really believe that this year's England's awful song (or last year's which was even worse) had any chances of winning?!!!! The only competition that this song could win is the competition of "The most stupid Kitsch song ever"!
I agree that eurovision was pretty much like that on the 80's but nowadays you will have to come up with something decent in order to win!
Yes there is political voting (Ireland gave its 12 to the most horrible song ever after all!) but a really good entry (like last year's Finland can still get #1!!.
England has so many decent rock bands! Send one and it will do well!

Eurovision is always political....duh....but this year Serbia won and i'm from Serbia so i didn't complain much... :)
