Even if you do not agree with the war in Iraq, the threat of terrorism in this world is very very real. There are people out there who want to kill and it does not matter to them what side of the political fence you fall on.

So how do we confront this threat?

Well........terrorism is a tactic that has been around from the beginning of human life. But...Clarify your answer. Do you suggest confronting all terrorism or just those by radical islamists. Personally I'm for confronting all terrorism...including those acts perpetrated by the state. If one were to compare the major acts of terrorism in the world, one would see a trend that demonstrates that the major international players...western europe and the US, are among the largest sponsors of terrorism. So yes, it needs to be confronted on all fronts.

By realizing that for every action, there is a reaction. I refer to our foreign policy. It has definite repercussions. Other than that, I can only say that if we continue to run around with our tails between our legs being scared to walk outside or carry on with our daily lives because we MIGHT get hurt, then our country is already gone. Be realistic....3000 people died in 2001 due to terrorism. How many folks are in the US? 300 million? Someone do the odds on that.....

First, we have to clean up our human rights record. That means no more torture and rape; no more illegal incarcerations with no grounds or trial.

Then, stop support of all corrupt governments, especially Israel.

With the rest of the world, bring pressure on the Israelis to clean up their human rights abuses (such as torture, collective punishment, mass murder).

Then, when we've given the world reason to respect us, we can get the cooperation of others in identifying terrorists (going after the wrong people is not only WRONG, but inefficient and counter-productive).

Oh, and when a terrorist is flipped and decides to renounce terrorism and help us, don't tell the terrorists about it (as Bush did summer of 04).

We can't fight terrorism by being terrorists ourselves.

What the terrorists want is not just to kill us, they want us to stop killing them, and supporting others who kill and oppress them.

If we hadn't alienated every decent human being on the planet, there would be a lot of people willing to cooperate with us, and many, many fewer who want to kill our people.

Our terrorist actions have created more terrorists, and caused the rate of terrorist acts to skyrocket. We need to knock it off and act like human beings.

Oh, a nice gesture would be to sign off on the international court, and send the Bush administration to face trial for Crimes Against Humanity.

"You may say I'm a dreamer,
But I'm not the only one.
I hope someday you'll join us...."

terrorism isnt a threat, It is a tactic. We cant give up our rights to try to stop a possible threat. The best way to do it is you need to profile muslims, control our boarders and be much more strict on who we let come into this country.

Two ways: 1. Kill every last one of them (not very nice and very difficult to do) 2. Win the hearts and minds (find out why they hate us so much and try to fix that, if that doesn't work... resort to number 1)

Terrorism is a very OLD problem... it's been around since creation.

The sad fact is that there is nothing that can be done except to have the will to live in peace...
Do unto others... peace, like charity... starts at home.

We are in a world war whether or not anyone wants to recognize that fact.
Terrorism is a world wide problem and they want to kill everyone.
We fight until they BEG us for peace.
Then we get that peace on OUR terms.
No slack from us!

"All propaganda must be so popular and on such an intellectual level, that even the most stupid of those toward whom it is directed will understand it... Through clever and constant application of propaganda, people can be made to see paradise as hell, and also the other way around, to consider the most wretched sort of life as paradise." - Adolf Hitler

Terrorism is Americas propaganda.
