I want to prevent bank from freezing my account in event of collection procedures.

Talk to a banker. All Federal benefits (SSI,SS, VA, Survivors) and some state unemployment benefits are protected from being garnished.

Some states do not allow garnishments.

If you are on social security it will depend on what your monthly payment is. If you are on ssi, it is exempt. Have you done taxes and when you entered your soc sec amount, did it exempt all of it as income? That is the question.

If you are on MediCAID your account cannot be attached.
If you are on MediCARE all bets are off. It has no bearing as to the source of those funds.
