There are many benefits to marriage for a man. First and foremost marriage provides life long companionship. Who wants to be 70 years old and all alone? It also offers the opportunity to produce children to carry on your name and your family traditions. Having a wife also means having a partner. Someone to help when you are sick, someone to help you take care of your family as they grow old, someone to help increase your household income allowing you the opportunity to live a better life. How about friendship? Just about every married couple I know are also best friends. Marriage also allows you to engage in regular sexual pleasures without the fear of disease. Marriage is also the only union between man and woman that is blessed by God. This is more important than you could ever know. Loyalty, stability, and dependability are also things that married men enjoy. The key is to marry the right person. If you are in love with your spouse, there is no greater feeling in this world. Why would you want to miss out on that?

Well Johnny, let's fast forward 10 years and tell this gentleman what he's won:
Thanks Fred. You too can be trapped in a sexless relationship with constant bickering and no way out short of losing half of everything you've worked your life to build and half your paycheck to child support.
If you act now we'll even throw in the guilt of knowing the emotional damage you've done to your kids by being selfish enough to want to be happy!

For me the real benefit of marrying is knowing that no matter how old you become and how you're life will be, there will be someone out there who will be with you and that will be your better half.

That depends on what you are looking for, doesn't it?
A family with children? Definitely better if married.
Love forever? Doesn't have to be marriage, and marriage won't guaranttee it.
Safer sex? Definitely.
And the list goes on...
There are millions of reasons why, and why to not, get married.
Why don't you investigate more what you want out of life? You sound unsure.

I'm afraid to get married! The divorce thing is a nightmare. It is the hardest thing to ever get through!
I went through so much pain, hardship, money, and it totally drained the heck out of me for 2 years!!
