How long after you notice the slimy egg white looking discharge should you wait to have sex? Or how soon after you notice is the best time to get pregnant? My husband and I have been trying for a little over three years now. I just went to first shift and finally was able to determine when I ovulated. The discharge is a sign of ovulation right? I took a test on the 19, 20, 21, 22. The one on the 21 was really close (if not exactly) the same color.

As soon as you see egg white discharge start having sex that day. The egg white discharge is a signal that your body is fertile. The fact that your ovulation test is starting to show positive confirms this. If you test again tomorrow, the result should be a definite positive.
It looks like your fertile phase for this month is approximately May 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25. Hopefully you had sex yesterday, but definitely have sex (only once a day though) today and the rest of the week.

Now that you've figured out about when you ovulate in your cycle you should start having sex no later than 3 days before you're due to ovulate through the day after you ovulate to be sure. You can chart your temps and mucus conditions on a site like FertilityFriend.com to help you in future months if you don't get it this time. The ewcm (egg white cervical mucus) is a sign of ovulation so you should have started having intercourse as soon as you noticed. Sperm can live up to 5 days in the best conditions but average is about 3 max. and the egg only has 24 hours so you really only have a small window. It does take sperm a bit to get to the egg so that's why you want to start early. Best of luck to you and don't worry, it will happen eventually now that you have the ovulation part pretty much figured out!

Ovulation occurs about 5-7 days after the last day of your period, not at the end of the mnth. Clear and slimy discharge can just be from having sex or a possible yeast infection. Discharge does not happen with ovulation.

i would have sex everyday or at least every other day, normally the discharge you discribe happens just before you ovulate, and it is best to have sperm there waiting for when you ovulate,a lot of people make the mistake of only making love when they see this mucus, when for a fair amount of people the mucus does not always match with when you ovulate, its best to have sex as often as possible. when i got pregnant this time i had no mucus at all, and had to use pre-seed. i did get my mucus after i ovulated, good luck!

You would that time. When you can determine your fertile time you would have sex every other day the fertile week. To determine is simple count 14 days starting with the day of your start date of your period that week have sex everyother day,not every day,( to build sperm count) and the discharge is a sign you are fertile!
