do people buy moss?

i have lots of moss here in alaska...where do i go to find a place to get rid of it?

Yes, people buy decorative sphagnum moss to place on the tops of artificial and real floral and plant arrangements. However, I'm not sure the type of moss found there in Alaska is aesthetically pleasing. Call your local nursery to see whether they would like to take some off your hands, or even buy it. Also, ask neighbors if they would like to use it for the purposes previously mentioned.
