I'm sorry Kafy, but you need to be more specific. What country are you doing this for. What do you mean 'Patterns of History'? Normally it's cultural differences that immigrants have to deal with.

Are you talking about casual immigration like people who migrate for job, family or education. Or do you mean during mass immigration like the Irish during the Potato Famine or the Jews escaping Hitler or the Boat People when Viet Nam fell.

During mass migration the people settle in enclaves of their own culture. individual migrants tend to settle in to the culture of the country.
