It's so great. I did it the other day at the bar. These guys were talking **** about this guy who had hepatitis, I didn't know him, but I jumped in the convo and was like hey man I have hepatitis, and I don't think that's very funny. Then they just sat there for a second, then apologized. Then I said just kidding, and they started laughing and bought me a beer.

I just have to jump in when I hear people talking negatively about 'senile old people'
Dementia is no joke. I work with sufferers. As for the old bit, let's hope you become one, there's only one alternative to not becoming old.
Dementia is cruel. We have one lady, a sweet little thing. She also happens to believe that the Home is her home ... her house.
No pun intended but she becomes absolutely demented when she sees all these strangers (my other ladies and gentlemen) in her house and she KNOWS she has to go out to pick the bairns up.
As you all know, I work nights and four nights ago, she didn't sleep, she didn't sit down; she walked round and round that floor getting more and more upset that not only would we (three members of staff) not go home but that there were strangers ..... including men ...... in the spare rooms.
That lady was on a high for 10 hours solid without a break and nothing we did or said could calm her down.
It's not big or clever to make fun of anyone with dementia. Even the most gentle person can turn aggressive and violent, I watched it happen to my own mother.

My mom had hepatitis from food (seriously) and she got over it after a month but can I have a beer anyway??

No but I have a handicapped sister and she loves disabled jokes, to look at her you wouldn't know it but as soon as she open her mouth .............well I've been in a pub with her and watched her pounce on someone for telling spas jokes and it's so funny to watch. The thing is she has no hang ups about it and after she's made them feel about 1/2inch tall she bursts out laughing telling them they should have had a better punchline.
