I’m a disabled girl and one of my hand is, I don’t quite know how to describe it but its tight. I have little control of it. My question is I bought a sleeveless dress which wouldn’t look right with a cardigan etc so should I bare my arms.

Oh sweetie, trust me. The only thing you need to worry about is beating the boys of with a stick. No matter how your hand looks it's about your eye's it's about your personna, it's about you being you and really enjoying it. If you want to bare your arm's that's fine, but if you don't that's awesome too. But whatever you choose make sure you choose it for you. People really have gotten past what the outside comes's off as and more about who you are and what you like to do. Do yourself a favor and go out pick something you would never buy. Then go home do your hair put it on, and go to the most populated spot and show it off. I have to get back to work, but smile lil hunny and remember that your the greatest thing since individually sliced cheese. Peace & Love

Go for it! You should go out and enjoy yourself and not think about your hand. If you look like you are having a good time and are not concerned about your hand then others too will not care about it. People somehow always notice when someone is trying to hide something so don't bother.
We all have things we're not happy with about ourselves but I learned awhile ago that if I don't make a big deal about it then know one else will either. I hope you have a great time.

Well I think you should, but if you think that your going to be insecure about your arm, then your self confidence might be low if you bare your arm. So think about how you might feel when you go out with the dress on. And decide from there. Oh I know! How about getting a shawl.

why not find a simple cardi, take it with you but try to go with out at first. if you feel uncomfortable then you have something...

saying that... if you have the weather for a sleeveless dress then you MUST make the most of it! It's hardly ever warm enough here for that - even peak summer!

I think you should dress whatever you feel comfortable in. Your disability should not rule your life. Be yourself, put your chin up high, and show everyone your confidence in yourself. Strut that new dress. Just remember this also, there is no such thing as a perfect person. Be proud of yourself, and people will be proud of you.

i think you should do whatever makes you comfortable. i have found that no matter how many people tell me something looks fine, or no one will notice it, i still end up obsessing about it. there is no point to feel self-conscious to the point where you are not going to enjoy yourself. be creative, just because something isn't 'in style" doesn't mean that it is wrong. i would probably wear a fitted light 3/4 length sweater or something.

If your really conscieus about your hand, your could try wearing a pair of those gloves people wear with dresses and things - not outdoor gloves but the gloves that posh people sometimes where inside.
But remember, it doesnt matter what you look like, no-one should think any different of you because you are disabled and if they do completly ignore them.

Yes! Don't let others bring you down! You are beautiful no matter what condition you have! Even if you're hand is disabled, let it show! Be proud of who you are! (i probably just sounded like Oprah or Dr. Phil, lol)

Look, it doesnt matter what others think of you, you are beautiful in Gods eyes! SO I think you should, but if you are really worried, wear a light shrug over the dress!!

I have a HUGE scar on one of my arms and I have always been ashamed to wear anything that might show it, but this year, I decided that I can't change it - it is what it is. So, I am going to wear what I want. You should too. :)

Good luck! :)
