Hi i have recently set up a fish room, It has 35 tanks (30 of them are 10 gallon tanks) (currently cycling)And i want to put an apple snail in each tank to clean up excess food, But i know fish rest at the bottom of the tank at night, So would the apple snails eat the fry (guppie fry) when they were at the bottom of the tank, ? And in a coupple of months i plan on making another fish room with 60+ tanks for platie and mollies would it be ok to put snails in with those..(platie,mollie,guppie)In all there will be about 90 , 10 gallon tanks and about 10 other diffrent sized tanks, So in all i would need about 90 apple snails, Would this be ok, And has anyone had good luck with these snails, Good/ bad points about them? Thanks

yes snails are great for cleaning up excessive food,
that other person who said no does not know about snails,
I have research them. and they will even eat dead fry. but not the living ones. I would get the mystery ones though not the apple (cana) snails
as the apple ones get much too big. and would put out more waste.
I also have fry tank with mystery snails to clean up the bottom.

good luck with your plans..
I know getting fish can be obsessive,
I started with one 6 months ago and now have 4 tanks.

Snails should be no problem at all, but to rely on them to clean the tank would be a mistake. They aren't really that good at finding the food and just eat what the come across so them would miss much of what needs to be cleaned up. Also, they obviously won't clean up poo or any dead fry, so you will still have to clean the tank daily.

On top of that they will add to the bioload of the tanks.

Personally I don't see a true benefit from using them and have very rarely placed snails in by grow out tanks.
