Billions in oil missing in Iraq.“Between 100,000 and 300,000 barrels a day of Iraq’s declared oil production over the past four years is unaccounted for and could have been siphoned off through corruption or smuggling, according to a draft American government report. Using an average of $50 a barrel, the report said the discrepancy was valued at $5 million to $15 million daily

Ask the Syrians and the Iranians. Also ask the Company Reps for all the French and Russian Oil Companies that had exclusive contracts with the old regime. As a oil field contractor that worked in the southern fields in Iraq. The company I worked for pulled out of the country the the Corp of Engineers ended our contract (PROJECT RIO (Restore Iraq Oil)), they pretty much said, that it was up to the Southern Iraq Company to pick up the tab if they wanted any thing else done. In the year that we were there, we did nine wells and triple production in each well to before 91 production levels.

How about a real source to give us. Ther ar many reasons for unaccounted oil, not that there is much there, so I'll educate you AGAIN, The problem is that most people do not understand supply and demand economics and what the structure is of the cost of gas per gallon. Do you know that we are using more oil now than EVER before! People are driving at an alarming rate. Do you realize how much petroleum’s used in making plastics and then how many things we use are made of plastics? The oil company makes about 9 cents a gallon as profit. The rest is made up of Federal and State taxes, the cost of exploration and production, Refining and then the cost of the additives that we have to put in the gas (we call it designer gas, thanks to the environmentalist wacko's). Do you know that we have not built a refinery in almost 40 years? (thanks again environmentalist). The refineries that we have are working at capacity and that is not enough to keep up with demand. Do you know that we hardly get any oil from the Middle East? Most people think that is where it all comes from. Not true. We get our oil form Canada, Mexico, Venezuela and Africa, in that order. What we get from Saudi is a very small %. You want the cost of gas to drop....STOP driving, open up the ANWR for drilling and off our coasts (thanks again environmentalist) OR come up with an alternate fuel.

hhahaah NY Times and who exactly plagarized this article??

Get a more credible source for this and I'll come back and answer it.

Meanwhile thanks for the two points.

Here's a news flash WE DON'T CONTROL THEIR OIL PIPELINES.
Hmmm could it be some foreign fighters over there siphoning the oil perhaps from Syria or Iran?

Bottom line is if we went to war for oil. Why haven't we seen any of the supposed benefits? Neither has big oil.

Time for a refill on your Kool Aid?

It's in the only place in can be, in the barrels of Haliburton, Dick Chaney's former employer and the only company to get a goverment contract to work on the wells in Iraq.

Why do you think GWB doesn't show any signs of giving a crap about his approval rating? It's getting phat.

And the way they are killing us this holiday weekend is down right sinful. If you have plans, great. But, I say...boycott trips. Stay home, do something with your families. Stay away from gas pumps.

What in the hell does this story have to do with Republicans? You know, I read a story about how there was a carjacking in England ... I suppose that's Bush's fault.

Dumbass.

Why don't you ask the Iraqi government. They are obviously pretty corrupt and could've easily stolen it!
