Does anyone know any stories and of any hauntings and haunted buildings/areas there? I'm doing a project about the ghosts of gettysburg and I'd like some stories. Any help would be much appreciated.

Also, go to Discovery . com, they have a special called "ghost of Gettysburg". Maybe you could get it at Best buy or something.

Look up on the Internet - Jenny Wade - she was the only civilian killed in the battle. Her house is still standing and you can stay there as it is now a B&B. If you look up haunted Gettysburg on the net also, they list all the haunted spots. The rooms in the Jenny Wade house are shown there. The battlefield itself has many stories. There are books out just on that subject. I've gotten a few from the library.

One story I read was that some visiting dignitaries were taken on an early morning tour of the battlefield where they watched a regiment of men parading on the grounds. When they got back they thanked their hosts for arranging this treat for them so early in the morning. Nothing had been arranged for them however so what they saw was from the past.

My friend went there and while taking a tour of some general's house/office, she smelled a heavy scent of a cigar and commented on nice it smelled. The tour guide said that only a few people have smelled this general's cigar that he used to smoke - back in the day. I love it there. Great place to visit.

Many U.S. Civil War sites are haunted. Battlefields are a great focuser and collector of energy, especially since people continually visit them and bring their own energies to the place.

The grassy field of Pickett's charge, and the 'bloody angle' where a few Confederates actually made a savage attempt at breaking through, still retain their bloody spirit footprints, so to speak. The closer one is to the beginning of July, the stronger the experiences are, since the period coincides historically with the battle. On a clear night, you can almost see some of the Confederate ghosts still trying to fight their way to the long-dead Union line, like Sisyphus pushing his rock towards the top. Their bodies still fall at the historical spot, although the rifles that pointed at them are no more, and their cries for water and God are quieter but still echo terribly afterwards.
