I've always been amazed by cultural differences. I've never thought that Barbara Streisand was even close to being attractive. But when I lived in NYC, several Jewish friends (men and women) would go on about how beautiful she was.
A few years later, I ran into some Jewish friends from NYC on Princes Street in Edinburgh, Scotland (talk about small world). I had been reveling in the large number of red-haired Celtic beauties in the city (I am of Irish heritage). As we were talking about the city, both of them made comments on how ugly the women were in Edinburgh.
We each have our own types, I guess -- As the French say : chaque a son gout (each to his own tastes).

all i can say about barbara is great singing voice and comic genius as far as acting goes! now as far as looks...she was OK back in the day when she did funny girl and all but now...shes kind of...well old...sorry.
